Bling and Brownies

Edible centerpieces are an exciting alternative to flowers when entertaining. I mean come on you can eat it and in this case it’s brownies. Jazzed up brownies I might add. This table is set for a small intimate group. Perfect for a girls night in or after a girls night out. Left up to me it could be any old day of the week.

While buffet tables don’t always allow for as much creativity as a seated tablescape you still want the flow of the table to be easy whether you have four guests or forty. If you have large amounts of food to serve don’t be too concerned with trying to put out everything at one time. Just have back up trays or containers ready to be brought out to replenish your serving dishes on the table. Also be on the lookout for any spills on the table or floor. These could end up being an unsightly mess. Plus you’ll want to attend to any spills that could leave a stain right away.

I laid my table with a white tablecloth. This one has a dainty leaf pattern which complements the swirls in the pink napkins. Do you recognize the overlay? It’s the same sheers I used for the revamped candelabra.

DIY blinged round serving trays hold the dessert centerpiece. One is elevated on a small round cake stand the other on a pillar candle holder. I bought a huge container of faux crystals from Hobby Lobby and glued them around the edge of the trays with basic craft glue. It didn’t take me nearly as long as I imagined it would.

Wine glass holder plates are one of the coolest inventions ever. Trying to fill your plate and struggle with a glass doesn’t always end well. Plus, if you’re standing around and mingling you’re less likely to have a mishap. Unless of course you’ve filled that wine glass one too many times. LOL!!! These holders were only fifty cents at JC Penny’s after Christmas sale.

I sat out mini bottles of wine with goblets. Another good idea to go with this would be a coffee or tea bar and of course water with lemon slices and mint leaves.

Pink and blue handled dessert forks are included along with a matching server. One more dash of sparkle was added with the taper holders. Elegant and on the fly entertaining doesn’t always require a lengthy guest list, weeks of planning, or a complicated menu. Treat yourself and your friends, you’ll be glad you did.

Good morning! What a pretty set up!!! I love the soft, ethereal look! Lovely to use the napkins that complement the table overlay.

I agree that the little plates with the glass holder on the side are terrific! My Mom used to have several sets of these in china and glass back in the 60s. I think she even had a funky little melamine set. She would pull them out for various social events at home and they were a wonderment. I don’t think she ended up keeping any of them, though. 🙁

You did a great job with the bling on the trays! I’ll bet that took both a lot of time and a very steady hand!!!

This tablescape would really be neat for any kind of girlie gathering, and I’d be the first one ringin’ the doorbell! 🙂

Oh I love that wine glass holder plate and want a set! I’m so clumsy that I definitely can’t deal with a drink, food, and talk at the same time! Such a beautiful table setting as always. The brownies look yummy. I need to save 3 brownies on my wine glass holder before they disappear quickly. 😉
