Mixed Metals Tablescape

Hello friends and I hope your holidays have been awesome. I want to share this last tablescape of the year with you and I’m keeping the verbiage short and sweet, hope you don’t mind. Before Thanksgiving I mentioned that I wanted to do a mixed metals and aubergine table and here it is.

I started the table with a white cloth and used two aubergine runners that I got from Tableclothfactory.com. For the centerpiece I picked up two gold mercury glass bottles for a steal at Michaels along with the silver stemmed candle holder. The mixed metal tall holders are ones that I’ve used previously.

A while back I made a Youtube video about my Ross and Gordman’s home shopping haul in Indiana. The aubergine goblets came from Ross and are a perfect match to the runners. For toasting the New Year champagne flutes are essential and a cordial might be in the works also.

The stack begins with a silver charger. I tried gold ones but they didn’t feel right so silver it was. Thanks to the generosity of Jamie at Noritake I’m using these lovely square Windsor Platinum dinner plates. They are topped with gold dessert plates from Pier One. I’m on the hunt for mixed metal flatware but in the meantime these silver ones work just fine. A silver napkin at each setting seals the deal.

I pulled the gold votive holders from the vignette in the living room and added the silver filigree ones along side them. I think I’ve carried out this mixed metal theme very well and I hope you like it.

Oh such a pretty table, Sandra. I love mixed metals (even in jewelry!) And I’ll keep my eye out for some mixed metal flatware for you. You always have such great finds. I love those bottles you found at Michaels. And the candlesticks are so pretty. Aubergine is such a rich color to me and what a way to end a year and herald in a new one! Happy New Year and I wish you much health, happiness and success in the year to come! : )

This is THE WAY TO GO, Sandra!!! I love the look mixed metals yields! It’s like wearing an Ombre sweater or eating a Tootsie Pop or something…just a little bit of something good all the way through! Mixing in the aubergine was a great idea! Really wakes the whole table up!

Happy New Year, buddy! I hope 2014 is super, super good to you all the way from head to toe!
